Remark by Greenslade, P. & Yoshii, R. 2000:148: Womersley (1936) mislabeled the figures, having transposed the captions for P. tasmaniae "forma principalis" and "forma maculata". It is clear from the written descriptions that Fig. 5a p.482 actually represents "forma maculata", the paler form. |
Remark by Janssens, F. 2013.11.29: Womersley (1936) did not mislabel the figures. Greenslade & Yoshii (2000) misinterpreted a and b tags of Fig.5 p.482 (a is the second figure). |

Remark by Janssens, F. 2021.05.14: According to the etymology : "The species is named after the type locatity Lorien Wildlife Conservation". However, 'loriensis' refers to a location called 'Lori' not to 'Lorien'. This meaning does not match the etymology. This mismatch is clear evidence of an inadvertent error that must be corrected (Art.32.5.1). 'lorienensis' refers to 'the Plumachaetas from the location 'Lorien' in line with the etymology. |
Remark by Janssens, F. 2021.05.14: According to the etymology : "The species is named in honour of the ancient Australian aboriginal people, the 'Mamu'". However, 'mamuensis' refers to a location called 'Mamu' not to a people called the 'Mamu'. This meaning does not match the etymology. This mismatch is clear evidence of an inadvertent error that must be corrected (Art.32.5.1). 'mamuorum' refers to 'the Plumachaetas (in honour of) the people called the 'Mamu' in line with the etymology. |
