Remark by Dányi, L. & Traser, G. 2008:22: According to Dunger (1975) the early Hungarian data of Kalaphorura burmeisteri could include Kalaphorura paradoxus (Schäffer, 1900) as well. |
Remark by Dányi, L. & Traser, G. 2008:22: Loksa's "Onychiurus burmeisteri" data were corrected by Traser (1999) as Kalaphorura paradoxa. |
Remark by Janssens, F. 2021.02.12: According to the etymology the species is named after Olga Makarova meaning "is named in honour of Olga Makarova". However, the new name refers to the "Psyllaphorura, the Olga" not to the "Psyllaphorura (in honour) of Olga". This mismatch is clear evidence of an inadvertent error that must be corrected (Art.32.5.1). The name 'olgae' is in line with the etymology. |
Remark by Janssens, F. 2021.01.24: According to the etymology, the new name is dedicated to Professor Ryozo Yoshii. However the name refers to 'Psyllaphorura, Ryozo Yoshii'. It is clear that it was the intention of the authors to reflect in the new name the dedication to Professor Ryozo Yoshii as in the 'Psyllaphorura (in honour) of Ryozo Yoshii'. The mismatch between the name and the intention of the authors is clear evidence of an inadvertent error that must be corrected (Art.32.5.1). Therefore we propose the following emendation of the name that matches the intention of the authors: 'ryozoyoshiii' = name of author appended with the latin genitive case suffix 'i'. |
Remark by Dányi, L. & Traser, G. 2008:21: Hymenaphorura dentifera (Stach, 1934) is "species inquirenda according to Gisin (1960)". |
Remark by Janssens, F. 2008.11.17: Contrary to what Dányi & Traser (2008:21) claim, Gisin (1960:151) refers to fimetarius var. dentifera Kos, 1939, not to sibiricus f. dentifera(sic) Stach, 1934. And the first is considered as species dubia by Gisin (1960:151), not as species inquirenda. |
Remark by Arbea, J.I. 2014:4: For the presence of 2+2 pseudocelli on abdominal tergum III, this species departs from Heteraphorura. |
Remark by Janssens, F. 2021.02.12: The position of dentatus in Paronychiurus is implied from the synonymy of Pseudonychiurus with Paronychiurus by Pomorski & Skarzynski (1992:60). |
Remark by Pomorski, R.J. & Steinmann, D. 2004:26: The tribe Hymenaphorurini probably also comprises the genus Probolaphorura, but it needs redescription. |
Remark by Janssens, F. 2024.07.27: The etymology refers to decaying wood as habitat of the new species. It is clear that the authors wanted the new name to refer to the 'Oligaphorura of the decayed wood (in general sense)'. However the new name 'ligni' does not match the etymology given it refers to the 'Oligaphorura of a single (hence particular) wood' ('ligni' = the genetive case singular form of 'lignum'), not to the 'Oligaphorura of the decaying wood (in general sense)' as intended. This mismatch is clear evidence of an inadvertent error that must be corrected (Art.32.5.1). In analogy with 'stalagmitorum' ('of the stalagmites'), or 'muscorum' ('of the mosses'), the name 'lignorum' refers to 'of the wood (in general sense plural form)' in line with the etymology. |
Remark by Pitkin.R., B 1980:423: Type specimen not adult. |
Remark by Folsom, J.W. 1919:6A: Pseudocelli of antennal bases 6+6 (two specimens) or 5+5 (one specimen). |
Remark by Hammer, M. 1953:36-37: In specimens from Northern Canada, the number of pseudocelli at the antennal base of Onychiurus 12-punctatus(sic) varies between 4 to 6. Of 23 specimens, 10 were found with 4+4, 11 with 5+5, 1 with 6+6 and 1 with a bilateral asymmetric number of 5+4 pseudocelli. |
Remark by Janssens, F. 2008.08.15: Given the description of 'decimpunctatus Skidmore, 1995:53' is lacking it is a nomen nudum, therefore an invalid name. The name implicitly refers to specimens of duodecimpunctatus having 5 pseudocelli at the antennal base in steadt of the 6 pseudocelli of the nominal form. Such specimens are considered to be an intraspecific variation of duodecimpunctatus. Therefore, 'decimpunctatus Skidmore, 1995:53' is a partial junior synonym of duodecimpunctatus Folsom, 1919:6A. |
